The Children and Young Persons Screening Assessment is a comprehensive service that assesses the mental health and behavioural needs of children and adolescents. We want to discover any underlying emotional, behavioural, or developmental difficulties using clinical interviews, questionnaires, and specialised diagnostic instruments administered by highly experienced professionals.
Referral Criteria:
Consider getting a Children and Adolescents Screening Assessment if your child demonstrates any of the following:
• Behavioral changes, mood fluctuations, or altered appetite.
• Inattention or lack of sleep.
• Excessive anxiousness or irritation.
• Withdrawal from previously enjoyable pursuits.
• Difficulties in connections with family and friends.
• Suspected trauma or abuse.
• Identification of learning or developmental difficulties.
Service Offerings
Before your meeting, you will be requested to fill out two types of questionnaires:
1. The General Medical History Questionnaire gathers information on your child’s physical health, family history, and social conditions.
2. Psychometric Scales: Identify particular symptoms and concerns for your child.
During the consultation, our skilled specialists will conduct a clinical interview with your kid to learn more about their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. This involves addressing daily activities, relationships, and any negative events. Standard test measures will also be employed to evaluate specific components of cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning, such as problem-solving activities, drawing assessments, and interactive games.
What To Expect
Our goal is to fully understand your child’s needs and provide a personalised strategy for their well-being. The assessment process normally lasts at least 60 minutes, depending on the complexity of the situation.
Following the assessment, you will be given a full report including the results and recommendations. This report will be extremely helpful in planning future interventions. We will collaborate closely with you to develop a strategy that maximises your child’s potential.
If you have any questions or issues about our Children and Adolescents Screening Assessment service, please do not hesitate to contact us. We’re here to help your child’s mental health journey.
